Upload teaching videos and work instructions
For every operation, first upload the teaching video, then generate the work instructions, and finally let AI extract the steps. This page covers the video specs and the order of the three buttons.
In the editor, select the operation and click the ② Materials tab in the middle column.
Before you start: video specs
Upload the teaching video first. Specs:
- MP4, 2 seconds to 2 hours long, file size up to 2 GB;
- Videos that are not 16:9 are automatically cropped from the center to 16:9. HEVC videos shot on a phone are converted automatically.
Shoot in landscape
A video shot in portrait leaves only a narrow strip in the middle after cropping.
You can also record the teaching video on the workstation's "训练采样" (Training Sampling) page and upload it from there. See Record footage.
Three buttons, in this order
Under the video there are three buttons:

Steps
- Upload the teaching video. If needed, click 视频剪辑 (Video editing) to fix it up.
- Click 提取作业指导书 (Extract work instructions). When it is done, edit it in the editor and click 导出 PDF (Export PDF). You can also upload your own PDF.
- Click AI 提取步骤 (AI extract steps) to create the step table and classes.
- The classes it creates are in tab ③ and the steps in tab ⑤. See Set up the model and classes and Configure steps and detection rules.
FAQ
"需要作业指导书作参考" (Work instructions needed as reference): no need to upload the video again
This is the most common sticking point: clicking AI 提取步骤 (AI extract steps) straight away. First click 提取作业指导书 (Extract work instructions) to generate one (or upload your own PDF), then extract the steps. At this point the teaching video has already been uploaded. You do not need to upload it again.
