Return a wrong part to its bin
After a "wrong part" alarm, put the part back in its own bin. This page explains how to put it back so the machine counts it, and what to do if you use the wrong bin.
In short
- Put the wrong part back in its own bin: hold it as you put it in, pause for a moment (under 1 second), then take your hand away.
- If it is the right bin, the alarm clears by itself. If it is the wrong bin, you get a new "wrong bin" alarm; follow the large text.
- If you really did put it back but the machine has not recognized it, press Returned on that entry in the alarm list.
How to put it back
After a "wrong part" alarm, put the part you took by mistake back in its own bin: hold the part as you put it in the bin, pause for a moment (under 1 second), then take your hand away.
| Situation | What the screen shows | What you should do |
|---|---|---|
| Right bin | The alarm clears by itself | Carry on |
| Wrong bin | A new "wrong bin" alarm, for example "Bin 3 should hold A, but B was detected going in. Take out B and put it in bin 5" | Do as it says |
| You dropped it in without pausing, or your hand blocked the view, so the machine did not see clearly | After about 15 seconds: "Could not see which bin B went into. Put it in bin X and pause for a moment" | Do as it says. If you really have put it back, press Returned on that entry in the alarm list at the bottom right; the system records that you confirmed it |
At stations with pick lights, during the alarm only the correct bin lights green; the others light red.
About boxes and wrong parts
- A technician can set a separate recognition threshold for each kind of part. Parts that are easy to mix up get a higher threshold, so the machine draws a box on the picture, and counts the part as taken, only when it is fairly sure. That is why a part in your hand sometimes has no box for a moment. Turn it to another angle or hold it steady and the box appears.
- Sometimes one part is drawn as two boxes (or recognized as two kinds of part, with two boxes of about the same size). The machine counts it as one and does not raise a "wrong part" alarm because of it.
If you took the right part but still keep getting "wrong part", press "False alarm"
Press False alarm in the alarm dialog so the machine makes this mistake less often. See Report false alarms and missed detections.
