Understand what an operation needs

Step detection for an operation has two layers, settings that apply to the whole operation and settings for each step. This page goes through what each one does and when you need it.

Applies to: Admin console and workstation stable release (2026-10-27)Updated 2026-10-28

Operation-level settings (apply to the whole operation)

SettingWhereWhat it doesWhen to configure
Class table③ 模型与类别 (Model & classes)All parts / states that rules can useAlways required
Inference zone④ ROI 区域 (ROI zone)Makes the model look only at the station areaWhen parts are small or the station takes up only a small part of the frame
Detection zones④ ROI 区域 (ROI zone)Zones referenced in rulesWhen you use a rule that looks at zones; see the note below
Material staging areas (pick lights)① 基本信息 (Basic info)One red/green light per area; the area to pick from in the current step lights greenWhen pick lights are installed on site
Wrong-part check · work area① 基本信息 (Basic info)Reports a wrong part when a part that "should not appear in this step" shows up in the work areaWhen parts are easy to tell apart visually and easy to mix up
Per-piece mode④ ROI 区域 (ROI zone)When several workpieces are in one frame, step rules are judged and counted separately for each workpieceMulti-workpiece line scenarios; see Use per-piece mode

When to draw detection zones: when you use rules that look at zones, such as "Object present / Object absent" with a zone selected, "Object left zone", or "Hand in zone / Hand left zone". For which types look at zones, see See all 23 types.

Step-level settings (each step on its own)

In ⑤ 步骤与检测规则 (Steps & detection rules), each step is one row. Expand it to see the detailed settings:

SettingWhat it doesNotes
Step name / English nameStep name shown on the workstationIf the English name is blank, the English UI shows the Chinese name; you can use 一键生成英文 (Generate English)
TimeStandard timeOptional
Teaching clipThe part of the teaching video looped during guidanceFilled in automatically by AI step extraction; you can fine-tune it
Pick areaWhich staging area this step picks from (its pick light turns green)Blank = no picking in this step, all lights red
OrderWhat happens when an earlier step was skipped and this step was finished firstSee the next section
Merge into previous stepForms a parallel group with the previous step; steps in the group can be done in any orderSee "Parallel groups"
Notes / EnglishPoints to watch shown to the worker on the workstation step barEach line break starts a new item; up to 300 characters per step
Detection cameraWhich camera judges this stepOnly shown when the station has several cameras
Detection ruleHow this step counts as doneSee Detection types and Use combined conditions

Order: Allow catch-up and Strict order

Workers sometimes do steps out of order. For example, step 2 has not been done but step 3 is finished first. This is handled by step 3's "Order" setting:

SettingOn the workstationUse for
可先做后补 (Allow catch-up) (default)Step 3 is marked yellow, on hold and the worker is prompted to redo step 2; after the redo, both steps complete togetherSteps with no assembly dependency between them (applying a label, adding a manual)
严格顺序 (Strict order)Step 3 is marked orange, rework: the worker must undo step 3 → do step 2 → redo step 3Steps with an assembly dependency (the refill must go in before the barrel)
  • The time from detecting the wrong order to finishing the correction is recorded as the "correction time". It is visible on the workstation run page and the records page.
  • If the correction is not finished, the whole piece is recorded as failed.

Parallel groups

When several steps can be done in any order (for example, the screws at four corners):

  1. Starting from the 2nd step in the group, click 并入上一步 (Merge into previous step) on each step in turn.
  2. Steps inside the group can be done in any order. The steps after the group start only when all of them are complete.
  3. Groups themselves are still done in order.

Common judgment parameters

The row at the bottom of each rule:

ParameterMeaningRecommendation
置信度 ≥ (Confidence ≥)How sure the model must be to count as "seeing" this partDefault 0.5; lower to 0.3 when small parts are not recognized, raise it when there are many false recognitions
持续命中 (Hold time)How long the condition must stay satisfied to passUsually a few hundred milliseconds; for instant actions such as pressing a button, enter 0 (one frame is enough)
超时 (Timeout)How long before an unfinished step reports a timeoutBlank = no timeout
完成时会遮挡前置零件 (Covers earlier parts when done)Finishing this step covers parts from earlier stepsMust be checked for steps such as closing a box or fitting a cover

Steps such as closing a box or fitting a cover must have "Covers earlier parts when done" checked

If it is not checked, parts from earlier steps "disappearing" are treated as an abnormal event.

Three ways to write a rule

  1. Single condition: pick one detection type and fill in the parameters. This is enough for most steps.
  2. Combined condition: click 组合条件 (Combined condition) at the upper right of the rule to combine several conditions with "All of / Any of / None of / In sequence". Groups can be nested; see Use combined conditions.
  3. Advanced YAML mode: write the rule text directly. Use it only when R&D has given you a ready-made rule; turning it on overrides the fields in the UI.

If the operation has a teaching video, you can use AI 提取步骤 (AI extract steps) to split the steps automatically and get recommended detection types.

Always review AI-recommended rules step by step

Check each one against the rules in How to choose a type.

Saving, snapshots and validation

  • Every 保存草稿 (Save draft) and 保存本工序 (Save this operation) automatically stores a snapshot of the steps and rules. If something breaks, you can restore from a snapshot in the history.
  • The 校验清单 (Checklist) on the right lists unfinished items (empty step name, no detection rule, and so on). Click an item to jump to it. The same checks are applied when the draft is submitted for review.
  • When the editor finds a combination that can never be satisfied logically (for example, the same part in the same zone is required to be both "present" and "absent"), it shows a warning under the rule. It only warns and does not block saving. See Use combined conditions.
